This is a Florida Ugly Ripe. They can't be sold outside of Florida because the DOA thinks they will give a bad image of Florida tomatoes. They are delicious, but they are not smooth. They have crevasses as you can see, but Florida wants only to export round and smooth tomatoes to the public. You'd think they would be cheap down here, consequently. Try $4.50 a pound! This tomato cost me $2.25. For a January tomato, it's worth it!
